Chautauqua County has been awarded $15,000 from the New York State Department of Environment Conservation’s Zero Emission Vehicles program. The award will go to completing additional energy cost reduction projects through the Clean Energy Communities program. Back in 2019, Chautauqua County secured a $150,000 Clean Energy Communities grant from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). The grant funds were used to complete four clean energy projects, in partnership with the Department of Public Facilities (DPF). One of the projects included the purchase of 3 Electric Vehicles to add to the DPF’s fleet. The purchase of these vehicles has allowed the county to secure this additional funding and reduce the County’s annual energy costs.
