Kathleen Peterson is the Executive Director of Chautauqua County Rural Ministry (CCRM). CCRM runs a number of programs, including: a soup kitchen, an emergency food pantry, cooking and nutrition workshops, nutritional education, community gardens, a gleaning program, and small scale-food processing. With her involvement in these programs, Kathleen has an understanding of community food needs and an understanding of interactions within the local food system. In her work, Kathleen recognizes that there are disconnects between transportation, processing, and food waste in our local system. In an effort to alleviate some of these concerns, CCRM is exploring the addition of a community kitchen at their facilities and opportunities for commercial food production.
