Linnea Carlson oversees the operations of the Jamestown Public Market as the only full time farmer’s market manager in Chautauqua County. Through her work, Linnea interacts with producers, schools, nutritional education leaders, and social services coordinators throughout the area. Linnea has interests in nutrition, food insecurity, and healthy food procurement. She has been a key player in the establishment of the Jamestown Mobile Market, as well as the Jamestown Community Compost Project. Issues that Linnea would like to see addressed within the food system include issues of healthy food access, communication between sectors, and education related to agriculture. She also has observed disconnects between local regulations and the food system and seeks to advocate for positive changes between regulations and the food system.
