Cybersecurity for Non IT Leaders: NY’s Endpoint Detection Solution for Counties
March 23 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
In 2022, to help counties strengthen our cybersecurity controls and defenses, New York State began to pay for and offer endpoint detection response (EDR) services at no cost. This year, the state plans to expand this offering through a more robust solution through Crowdstrike. At the same time, the state opened its joint security operations center (JSOC) to help identify, collect, and share cyber threat data for participating state and local government organizations. As of early 2023, more than 40 counties have signed on for the Crowdstrike solution and to participate in the JSOC. This webinar will detail what EDR services do, discuss what New York is making available for counties, review best practices on how to access training and support, and how this partnership is designed to help protect county IT systems. Presenters will also provide an update on the state’s JSOC.
This webinar is part of a cybersecurity webinar series being co-sponsored by NYSAC, the New York Conference of Mayors, the Association of Towns, the New York Municipal Insurance Reciprocal, and the Center for Technology in Government at the University at Albany.
