Housing Development and Financing 101
November 2, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
How often do local boards hear that a developer can’t do something because it will make the project infeasible? How many of us understand what this actually means? Join us for a primer on the development process, with a particular focus on how projects are financed. Doug Olcott is with the Community Preservation Corporation, a non-profit affordable housing and community revitalization finance company which provides a full suite of construction lending, permanent lending, and equity investing products. Established in 1974, they have invested $12 billion to create and preserve over 220,000 housing units. Locally, CPC has invested in many affordable developments in the county, and notably was the pioneering lender for early projects in Beacon that ultimately kicked off the City’s revitalization.
SPEAKER: Doug Olcott, Senior Vice President and Director of Lending Hudson Valley Office, Community Preservation Corporation
COST & CREDITS: This online course is FREE! Local board members may be eligible for 1 hour of required training credits. Code enforcement officers may apply to use these credits towards their professional development electives.
