You are invited to reserve your spot for this year’s Retool climate technology conference in Chautauqua, NY on July 26, 2023. Meet regional manufacturers and workforce development leaders exploring emerging opportunities in climate and clean tech. Enjoy time for making personal connections and discussing new business development opportunities in the area.
The agenda includes a morning lecture in the Chautauqua Amphitheater by Leslie Dewan, a nuclear engineer and environmentalist, has developed a startup company, RadiantNano. The company is developing next-generation radiation detectors with applications in national security, clean energy production and medical diagnostics. She will be discussing her work in improving nuclear reactor designs and the potential of nuclear energy infrastructure to help power our energy-dependent world. Leslie was named as a TIME Magazine “30 People Under 30 Changing the World,” as an MIT Tech Review “Innovator Under 35,” and as a National Geographic Emerging Explorer. She holds a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from MIT as well as degrees in mechanical engineering and nuclear engineering. She is the youngest person ever to serve on the MIT Board of Trustees.
There will be a private buffet lunch at the Athenaeum Hotel, followed by a panel discussion at Smith-Wilkes Hall on an Overview of the Economic Development Opportunity & Workforce Development Needs provided by Dennis Elsenbeck, Head of Energy & Sustainability, Phillips Lytle LLP & Owner, ElsEnergy LLC. Panelists will include: Jeffrey Conrad, Executive Director, Green Force Training; William Smock, Principal, P-TECH Academy for Erie2CC BOCES; Scott Rybarczyk, Sr. Environmental engineer/Sr. Associate Principal @ Wendel Companies; Rob Leteste, Invest Buffalo Niagara & member of the Buffalo & Niagara Falls Workforce Leadership Academy; Bryan Boleratz, Goodwill Goodskills Career Builder Program Liaison; Todd Tranum, Executive Director, Manufacturers Association of the Southern Tier (MAST).
